After a year of lethargy, SD Records returns with a tremendous EP signed by Ludowick. One of the most beloved remixers of the family finally deserved a solo EP, and the occasion has arrived in the SD 30th release.

‘Always Dreaming’ becomes one of the high points of Luis’ career, of which we still don’t know its peak. The EP is made up of 3 songs simmered for 5 years, and although they represent 3 different moods, the common denominator is the dancefloor.

Beat the drum! Because we are presenting it on our favorite dancefloor: Macarena Club. Come and burn your shoes with us on January 27th, Barcelona. Ludowick itself will rock the house accompanied by MarioF, Sásuel & Edu Kortés.

Feros es un incansable de los discos. Coleccionista de joyas desde sus inicios tras las máquinas, es capaz de deleitarnos con ritmos rotos, house, techno… pero sobre todo, técnica.

Habitual en las cabinas de Sevilla, ha pisado clubs como Sala Cosmos, Prisma o Sala Malandar. Fruto de su trabajo en el estudio y de la mano del peso pesado Flumo Recordings, pudimos disfrutar de un cuidado ‘And Finally… EP” (FLR058).

Myriam Hernandez, nacida en Huelva, con más de 15 años de experiencia que comenzaron con una residencia en Marlin Blue; ha pasado por clubes como la extinta Metrópolis (Córdoba), Mosquito (Punta Umbría), Colonial (Marbella) entre otros muchos.
Artista versátil en sus sets, combina Indie, Funky & Nu Disco con otros estilos más definidos. Para nuestro capítulo 87 nos ha preparado un viaje dinámico salteando beats con melodías frescas, resultando un menú muy deep apto para todos los públicos.

Alexey Guskov is Nightdrive. This accordion player began to study electronic music after moving from Samara to St. Petersburg in September 2015. His first single was released in 2016 on Ivan Startsev’s Soviet label, and this collaboration has been active for the last 5 years. Alexey shares a podcast carefully selected, with no limitations to any particular genre, from house to progressive, electro, acid, garage, and breaks, including 2 own tracks, in his 60 min long.

Alexey also wants to share a message with us all:

“Oh guys, I am categorically against the war, I have a lot of friends both in the music scene and friends of friends who live in Ukraine! I beg you to stop and stop the bloody actions, only PEACE AND LOVE!”

SD029 | Timeleft – Oma Talks

Timeleft returns to Sonidos Distintos, this time as headliner, for our catalogue’s 29th reference. His trademark graceful and deep House music shows a manifest evolution, as well as representing a breakthrough for the Catalan producer.

Daniel delivers three fresh and original cuts which come in handy to lengthen our summer holiday mood. Good Chance opens the album with an infectious groove, vocal details and a sweet pad that go smoothly along with an exceptional FM bass which does not allow stillness at any time. In A Big Deal, Daniel plays around with a chord alternating octaves while the track rhythmically evolves. A special mention goes to the cowbell with anger that has been stuck in our heads ever since the first listening. The last original tune is Dear Hatson, a rawer and more tribal cut, though just as efective, creating a perfect synergy amongst melody and bass.

We would like to welcome North American artist Ralph Session, who closes the EP by transforming A Big Deal into a bubbling soulful piece with the good vibe inherent to his productions.

En las oficinas de SD estamos muy contentos con el recibimiento que ha tenido “Flow with You”, el reciente lanzamiento de Nickon Faith. No hemos podido resistirnos y le hemos pedido al joven artista de Manchester que nos hiciera un mix con los temas que más le han inspirado/influido a la hora de cocinar semejante temazo.

La respuesta no se hizo esperar, y es que Nickon en menos de 48 horas ya nos había compartido esta deliciosa sesión con temas de Floating Points, DJ Seinfeld o la remezcla de Ludowick de su propio track.

Espera melodías que te llevarán al hiperespacio, deep house y breaks perfectos para prepararse de cara a un caluroso fin de semana.

SD028 | Nickon Faith – Flow With You

After a necessary pause to organize our thoughts, we return stronger than ever with the 28th reference for our catalogue. We welcome Nickon Faith, a young UK producer based in Manchester, who creates a progressive and melodic atmosphere in “Flow With You”. Indeed, as a child, he was first influenced by Tangerine Dream, and more recently, by artists the likes of Bicep and Bonobo. The sounds’ originality and the subtle female voices fill with melancholy a straightforward elegant House Groove.

As for the end of the EP, we rely on two of our favorite artists from the SD crew.
Luis Palomo is an expert at leaving one speechless. Ludowick re-invents the original song, on this occasion, with an amazing big fat break 90s piano tune.

Pedro Sanmartín is in top form, as his last year’s releases prove. The Norway-based artist delivers a deep epic heavenly version, twisting and detuning arpeggios.

Presentamos a David Alguacil, Cordobés que lleva más de 20 años en la escena ejerciendo de pinchadiscos, de los de plástico de la vieja escuela. En el verano del 98 comienza su andadura como residente y programador en la sala con más personalidad del momento en la noche de la ciudad del salmorejo. Era la época del Surfer Rosa, en donde pasaron por la sala Dj’s de la talla de Jota Mayúscula, Profesor Angel Dust o Buscemi.

Su gran pasión por la música afroamericana (funk, soul, jazz, latin) le lleva a formar en 2004 The Black Evolution junto a Miguel Gomez L. y Salah, reivindicando el funk y el hip hop, e invitando a DJs relevantes como R de Rumba (Rap Solo) o Señor Lobo (Lovemonk). Volcado en cuerpo y alma en la música negra, en 2004 comienza a trabajar en la tienda de discos más longeva de Córdoba, Fuentes-Guerra Discos.En este viaje con el que retomamos nuestra serie de podcast, demuestra su buen hacer en un set lleno de funk del que gusta escuchar al sol, ese que te llena las papilas gustativas de soul, disco y ritmos para pegarte una buena tarde acompañandote en lo que gustes hacer.
